Kambô
Kambô is a traditional Amazonian ritual using the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog. It is traditionally used to clear 'panema' (negative energy), boost strength, stamina, and fertility, and to eliminate parasites and toxins.
Kambô is also traditionally used prior to hunting to heighten senses and mask the human scent.
Many people seek kambô for healing purposes, such as clearing emotions, toxins, and heavy metals from the body. It is also used with intention by many to reclaim personal power and to strengthen one’s being. Many people have had experiences with kambô to address their symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, and trauma. While there are many anecdotal reports of kambô’s benefits for these conditions, its primary purpose is to purify the body, mind, and spirit.
The kambô secretion is applied to the small burns on the skin, which causes the body to undergo a purging process—often involving vomiting, sweating, and emotional releases. The purging process helps with detoxifying and cleansing.
Many people feel enhanced energy and more vitality after kambô, feeling lighter and a strong sense of peace.
