Preparation:
In the days leading up to ceremony, we invite you to focus your intention on your utmost well-being.
As a family, we do not follow a regimented dieta prior to our ceremonies.
We recommend to you that you follow your internal knowings regarding what to consume and what to avoid.
Balanced food, energy, and a clear intention will help you prepare yourself for ceremonies.
We recommend the following considerations:
INTENTION
Please focus your intention on the following questions:
Why am I being called to this work?
What is it that I am seeking to learn from this experience?
What do I want to call attention to, and perhaps change in my life?
What can I focus on in my daily life in the days leading up to ceremony to feel most grounded and centered?
FOOD
Aim to eat a balanced diet that feels nourishing to you.
Avoid excessive amounts of stimulants like alcohol and caffeine.
Avoid processed foods and foods with high amounts of fat, salt, and sugar.
Avoid excessive consumption of aged, cured, or fermented foods.
If there are foods that irritate your stomach, please avoid them prior to ceremony.
Avoid consuming pork
On the day of ceremony, try to avoid peanuts. Avoid hot and spicy food on the day of ceremony.
On the day of ceremony, please fast at least three hours prior to the time that your ceremony begins. If you have a night ceremony, eat a good lunch and aim to fast the rest of the day.
Have plenty of liquids, electrolytes & and hydrate yourself.
MEDICATIONS/ HEALTH INFORMATION
*Be sure that you have completed our consultation form, including all medications, herbs, and other substances that you are taking. We need to know about your physical and mental health so that we can consult with you on your particular situation.
If you take any of the following medications, we must know about them:
• anti-depressants (especially SSRIs) • medications containing MAOIs • anti-anxiety medications • substance abuse medications • migraine medications • nausea medications • pain medication. • Injections • appetite suppressants (diet pills) • Central nervous system (CNS) depressants • Barbiturates
For yagé, try to stop consumption of cannabis one week prior to this particular ceremony.
All herbal supplements should be avoided for a minimum of 48 hours before and after the meditation. We recommend they be avoided for one week before if possible.
Herbal tea is okay.
• Avoid medicines for colds, sinus problems, hay fever, or allergies for a minimum of 48 hours before and after.
